Steel production hits 50-year low
PRODUCTION on Scunthorpe’s Corus steelworks has hit its lowest level in 50 years, adding to fears that more jobs could go.
The gloom over the industry deepened despite the 6,000-strong workforce helping to make savings of more than £44-million since last November.
