US flat products imports increased 8% in January
Based on reported import licenses, US flat products imports increased 8% in January to 514,000 short tonnes compared to December actuals of 474,000 tons. Licenses reported up to 17 February reached 347,000 tons, which indicates that full-month imports for February should climb significantly.

Toyota cuts working hours and pay
Carmaker Toyota says that staff at its UK factories will have their pay and working hours cut by 10%.
The cuts will take effect on 1 April and will last for one year. They affect 4,500 staff at plants in Burnaston, Derby, and Deeside, Flintshire.

Severstal to cut up to 9,500 jobs in Russia
