Are steel prices heading for meltdown?
Steel prices having been rising (and continue to rise) at record rates this year. A few in the industry are speculating about a possible fall in the fourth quarter. We spotted this item over at Purchasing.com.

China steel to raise prices by 17.8%
Taiwan’s top steel maker said today that they were to increase domestic steel prices by 17.8% in the 3rd quarter to reflect higher raw material costs and demand.
The raise, missing the 20 percent rise expected by investors, comes after some rivals such as POSCO had increased prices by 20% in April.

Honda faces steel price hike in US
Honda Motor Co’s chief executive said on Thursday the Japanese automaker had been asked to pay more by a U.S. steelmaker despite a contract agreed earlier this year, and added he feared other suppliers may follow suit.
