Arcelor Mittal to sell US steel mill
Arcelor Mittal, the world’s largest steelmaker, said on Thursday it had agreed to sell its US Sparrows Point plant for an undisclosed amount. Higher Steel Prices Expected As Inventories Start to Drop
In contrast to a report from MEPS, the Wall Street Journal, is reporting possible steel price rises.
After a softer-than-expected first half, some steelmakers are predicting a more robust, and profitable, second half of higher prices and lower inventories.

Stainless steel prices in turmoil
Western stainless steel producers of strip mill products have temporarily abandoned their traditional basis plus surcharge mechanism for selling their material. Most EU and US mills are now quoting only transaction (effective) figures.
