Just a couple of days after confirmation that any take-over of Algoma by Salzgitter is “off” , the company are deying rumours of a bid for Boehler-Udderholm

Salzgitter to investigate cooperation with Algoma
Salzgitter AG said it still intends to investigate the potential for an industrial cooperation with Canada’s Algoma Steel Inc although talks between the two companies regarding a possible takeover have been terminated.

Corus shareholders okay Tata Steel takeover

Mittals in talks to buy German steel company Saarstahl
The Mittal group is in talks to buy steel company Saarstahl AG, located in Saarland, Germany, the Indian daily Financial Express reported.

Does Severstal still have it’s eye on Corus?
Despite denials from Severstal, Tata and Corus, rumours are still circulating about Severstal and the Corus “long products” plants.
Last year Severstal was linked along with Tata and CSN to be interested in making a bid for Corus.
