Talks aimed at avoiding job losses at the last remaining big stainless steel producer in Sheffield are taking place.
Outokumpu, the world’s second-largest stainless steel producer is planning to move new orders from Coil Products in the city to Finland, hitting UK jobs.
The move is temporary while UK shift patterns are reviewed, possibly allowing work to return to Sheffield.
Steel workers’ union Community said they were currently entering talks with the firm.

Bidders make offer for Erdemir
ANKARA - Arcelor, Eregli Joint Initiative Group, Mittal, NLMK-Open Joint Stock Company, Nurol-Limak-Ozaltin-Severstal and OYAK offered bids for the privatization of iron-steel producer Erdemir.
The auction took place for the privatization of 46.12 percent of the total shares of Erdemir.

Finland’s Outokumpu Issues Profit Warning
