Nucor to form European venture
Nucor Corp. has agreed to form a joint venture with Switzerland’s Duferco Group by the middle of the year.
The equal partnership will manufacture steel beams in Italy and distribute them in Europe and North Africa.
Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
"For the last few years, we have been saying that Nucor would enter into international steel production through joint ventures with culturally compatible partners where Nucor can leverage its particular operating know-how and intellectual property," says Dan DiMicco, chief executive of Nucor.
