Introduction

A lot of the information contained within the site will relate to steel in general, particularly the sections on steelmaking. Our primary function remains to link sources relating to steel strip in all it's forms, hot rolled strip, cold rolled strip, coated strip. galvanised strip. Aims

As our market becomes increasingly Global and more competitive we need more readily available information to succeed in our businesses. the ability to locate suppliers quickly, to contact logistic support companies, to find details of a new specification or to reach new markets depends upon freely available, accurate information. I hope that this site will grow to fulfil this function and more. Initially this site will point mainly to strip producers within Europe. These will include Steelmakers and rollers and re-rollers of hot and cold strip that are known to me or of whose existence I have discovered during my own researches. Also links will grow to include organisations and publications that are relevant to our industry. As this site is initially based on my existing knowledge, I need to rely on you the visitor to advise where further information is located, only with your help will this site realise its' full potential. At the bottom of this page you will an e-mail link, please feel free to contact me with suggestions and comments.

Our Website has undergone a major overhaul during March of 2005, along with a re-design a lot of content has been added. The News links are more comprehensive and sections have been added to provide information relating to steel strip processors and some ancillary services. Our next task to be undertaken within the next month is to expand the section on steel strip specifications, as it is clear from the feedback that we get that this is a feature of the site that is very popular.

Larger websites by their nature tend to be somewhat static and not always easy to update. Our news page uses RSS webfeeds and links to news sites, selected for their relevancy to the steel industry. In addition to this we started a Weblog back in May of 2005, which is presented in two formats. We have been pleased with the number of visits we have been receiving and would be pleased if you would take a look and use the opportunity to comment on the articles or the steel strip industry in general. The blogs can be found here and here.

We have found it necessary to incorporate some advertising in to the site to help with the external costs of maintenance, but we have tried to make it as unobtrusive as is possible, and we will not succumb to "pop-ups" or flash animations that can make some sites so infuriating..

As always we welcome your comments on any aspect of this site, and invite any views that you may have, or any information relating to other useful sites that we could beneficially supply a link to.

We welcome Exchange links with related sites, please email us with the exact location of the link and we will gladly reciprocate. Only Steel, Engineering or closely related links please.
